I'm working on an outdoor, vertical wheelchair lift which has stopped functioning. Operating the up/down buttons only produce a hum. The capacitor seems to have taken a dump. The specs. on the first line of the cap reads: Aero M 540-648 MFD 110 VAC

It seems that company no longer exists, so doing a little web searching I came up with the following, based on what's printed on the cap:

https://www.supplyhouse.com/MARS-11026-540-648-MFD-Round-Start-Capacitor-110-125V?utm_source=

Or:

Question: would either of these work? (the reason I'm asking is because there's other numbers on the cap)
Any insight appreciated.

yes any one within that range will work... I think they have rating of +/- 10% or 30%

basically anythat is in Ufd / mfd AC caps with proper voltage rating of 120V and above... will work.

You don't have to stick on that brand. Unless you wanted to for what ever reason.

Capacitance rating is important, it has to be within that range, voltage rating minimum of the original is fine. it can be 240 or 370 480 but those caps of the same capacitance will be bigger, and might not fit into the casing you have.

You can use a capacitor that might be slightly out of range, but keep it close as you can. My dad needed a cap for an old motor and one didn't exist. I forget the MFD, but say it was like the OP's post, 540-648 I think we put in one that was like 600-700 MFD and it worked fine and still is working.

Thanks, Poor, appreciate that. The capacitor I need seems to be easily available, and quite inexpensive.
