1 ton chain hoist won't do down

Anyone worked on one of these cheap foreign small chain hoists? Chain goes up but will not go down. There is a pawl inside that clicks on ever notch for holding but doesn't have a lever to move to disengage pawl. Could use some help on this if some has had this issue. Maybe someone has the instructions that came with it. Thanks Bill

Figured it out clutch and gear froze on shaft
Easy fix. Gear that chain goes on unscrews
But pawl stays in place to hold load
That kind of thing is a reason I prefer differential chain hoists. I got rid of the ones like that after seemingly constantly having to take them apart and fix them.

A few years ago, I tried to buy an American made chain hoist. Failed. Closest I could find was a Japanese company that bought an American brand. Forget the name.
