All, I need to wire up two pool pumps. I have 10-3 NM in crawlspace, what is the legal way to pass through the brick?

I need to pass through the brick then up for about 4ft and terminate into a small sub panel.

Do I need a junction box in crawlspace transitioning NM to THHN/THWN or can I legally run the NM in the conduit up to the sub panel then transition to the proper wire there?

I've read a number of threads this subject, seems sort of subjective, but I wanted a get a sanity check anyways.

The panel feeding a pool pump needs a full sized insulated ground. I do not believe you can feed it with NM.

May be able to use UF also (underground feeder) depending on your local codes.

There are only 2 locations recognized by the NEC, dry and wet.
Any exterior location is considered to be a wet location.

The ground should be individually insulated, just the same as for an active conductor. The jacket on UF cable doesn't qualify.

So even inside of liquid tight conduit is considered exterior???

Probably so, I think maybe they allow the G in UF to be considered insulated? But if this was a pipe out of the direct weather and under overhang where it cant get flooded it wouldn't cause me any loss of sleep.
Someone can elaborate but the idea is an insulated ground so it cant become energized from any other source and is not shared with other circuits. Its been a while since I read thru the section, as Alfred pointed out very specific rules concerning pool feeds.
I usually don't say much at Home Depot but the other day the plumma and a customer were discussing hot tub hook up, this was a first diy job for the guy, neither knew if the thing was 120 or 240, yikes.
