Good catch. As a workaround, just purchase a $75+ gift card in store and then use it online. The exclusions does not state that you cannot purchase a gift card.

Good call on the in-store purchase of gift card. Also, after posting I did see a post that one person posted on slickdeals did get e-mail confirmation about his amex after after making an online purchase. There may have been others but I stopped after the first page.

Interesting. In my experience the email from Amex offers comes almost immediately after the purchase is made, so it wouldn't take long to find out if an online purchase received the $15 back.
