I have to wonder if pricing of these bundles have been marked way up so that after promo discount it seems like a discount..
When in reality it's just a regular small discount sale???

Ridgid Gen5X Impact Driver(not the new Brushless) is marked at $79 and I got it for $52+tax after coupon. What a deal! This mated with the Brushless Hammer Drill and Circular Saw for $108+tax.

Seems like they started Gen 5 with brushed motor but later decided to go Brushless instead so the brushed must go. Now let's hope they bring out more tools.

Does the XT257M trigger any promo in store?

Online vs in-store is not 100% the same. There is a lot more things that will work in store than will work online. So don't worry about what doesn't work online. I just bought something that didn't work online but worked in store.

The XT257TB shows on the website that it is supposed to trigger the $150 discount. A lot of the Makita stuff on the website is just plain screwy in what works and what does not.

I know that a number of stores in the Minneapolis area are out of the XT257TB combo. It still shows on the web at $399.99, but I have seen it (or just the shelf tag) at several stores for $329.99.

I should go back and try and convince them to give me the 150 deal on the 257M since they don't have the 257TB in stock. It is the same thing, just smaller batteries...

how did you get that rigid $149 kit...brushless/hammerdrill/saw down to $108... ?????
from the $150 promo..... which kit added to this made the $150promo kick in..

I tried the $279 rigid kit with hammer/saw kit and the $100 promo didn't work
Then I tried the dewatl $369 kit with rigid hammer/saw kit....no $150 coupon promo kicked in....it should have kicked in the $150 promo coupon in store...because online it worked but not in store...

I want the rigid hammer/saw kit down to lowest possible with the promo coupons...and return the main kit...back..

In order to get the promo to kick in, you have to use one of the 4 major kits listed here as your "base" kit:
http://www.homedepot.com/c/Holiday_Combo_Kit_Offer

The price on the Ridgid drill is still $179 on there though. The Ridgid drill/saw combo (R9206) paired with the Dewalt combo (DCK296M2) brings the Ridgid down to $130 and the Dewalt down to $268.

So, if the Ridgid were $149, the promo would bring the Ridgid down to $106.

2 more days left of this promo!

I picked up the DeWalt kit and the Ryobi 18ga Narrow Crown Stapler last night. The stapler triggered the $150 off at the register but it did not trigger the promo online. Coupled with a Lowes 10% off coupon the stapler was $88.

Well then. My apologies. My local stores cardboard displays with the promo information states the end date as 1/6/2016.

I am going to stop by at lunch and verify what I have been reading.

I used Dewalt set ($379). Paid online for Ridgid combo at $130+tax.
The store automatically adjusted to $108+tax because of the price difference ($179 to $149).

Same would apply in store :headscrat

Just find any of the "main" kits then add the Ridgid saw/drill combo as your "additional" kit and it should work. If it doesn't, pull it up online and show them and they should adjust it.

Not really sure what the confusion with this is here.

Hf coupons don't work online, even with store pickup pricing change.. Some combos work online while instores dont, same thing other way.. I recently did this in store. Not able to do it online store.. And Ryobi 4v screwdriver is going back. Some smart managers will take Hf coupons to get their sale ### up.. In the end it's all about store sale## revenue, not discount or coupons.

I tried a Lowe's 10% coupon at one of my local stores last night on a combo and was told by the MOD that they no longer accept ANY Lowe's coupons. I had 2 penny items on my checkout screen, so I didn't argue, but BS none-the-less.

I just used a Lowe's 10% coupon today. I have been nudging the cashier to use the 'Group Discount' button on the screen. Some of the HD's by me don't have a Lowe's coupon match button on their screen anymore. They may be phasing acceptance of it out as I believe Lowe's is going to be limiting the number of coupons it gives out coming soon.

Side note:

Checked 2 stores today at lunch and both had the large signs stating the $150 off promo ends 1/6/2016.

My guess is that, in my area (NE Florida), the promo may be ending in store but valid online until 1/31/16. I would check your signs in your area.

I think I read that Lowes is phasing out the 5% cash back when using their card at Lowes (sometime very soon or its already happened), so I would assume HD will do the same.

Ive always wondered if one could copy the UPC they scan for the discount, would it actually scan as a discount at self checkout? Obviously sleazy which is why I would never try myself, just curious.

This set is a great deal too. Not brushless, but the lighted chuck is sure a conversation piece :eyecrazy:

Almost certain I saw someone post that set in brushless for not that much more. Think it ended up $128+tax out the door - that was with 20% HF coupon, though.

I used a lowes 10% coupon recently, after the new year, and they had to enter the 10% discount as customer satisfaction where previously they had an icon specifically for Lowes mover coupon. One of them had said the previous one expired at the end of 2015, (which I presume to mean automatically removed from the system) and said a new one has not been added yet.

Stopped by an out of the way store tonight and grabbed another Makita XT257TB kit paired with a Milwaukee $99 drill/sawzall kit. Used another 10% Lowe's coupon on the deal. This store had a slew of the $99 Milwaukee drill/sawzall kits.

I am trying to justify why I should buy the Dewalt kit just to purchase a bare tool. I already have the Milwaukee m18 1/2" drive impact along with a M18 Drill and Impact kit w 4.0 mah batteries from last year. Got a heated M12 Jacket for Xmas, so M12 and M18 would suffice. Any quick ideas and why?

I just don't know which one I should get. I turned a good friend onto Milwaukee... I think he ended up getting the Circular Saw and also the Sawzall in the M18. I am thinking of getting the Planer. Seems a little off the wall choice, but I know I have a couple of doors in my house that need some attention since they are sticking. Caused by settling.

According to the signage at my local store (as of this morning), today is the last day for this deal.

It looks like they got "smart" and marked the online combos as "Special Buy" and that seems to cause this promo not to work on them like it did last year.

For example, last year on the last day of the promo (I want to say right before Super Bowl weekend), the M12 Fuel Hackzall kit with free M12 ratchet combo was 169 or 179 and you could buy the DeWalt kit with it to make the 150 off promo work.

This year a similar combo exists but if you add it to cart with the DeWalt kit, the discount doesnt show up. Im guessing because the Hackzall combo is a "special buy" on the site.

As I said earlier this week. All of my local stores signage states the deal ends today. At least in store the deal is ending in store it seems.

it works in store to trigger the discount but it will not let you add the free tool, the system blocks it. If you want to fight it they will cave after you buy it and complain. The way they advertise it in store its not excluded and mentions nothing about the purchase price. "free with purchase of qualifying kit" is a big screw up on there part in a lot of states. Not sure its worth the effort though.

Talked to the supervisor of the tool dept, they are extending the promo in store at least a week.

Couldn't find the the Dewalt or Mikita kit in store even though that store said they had 2 each guy couldn't either was going to combo it with the Rigid Hammer/Circular Saw will try it online for in store pick up and see if it adjusts the price like the other member said it did when they went for pickup. Plus make's it easier to return the big set.

I did see the 2 pack of the Makita 4.5" grinder dropped down to $69 bought a set was waiting for a drop figured was good they only had 3 left 1 was mixed in by the single grinder box for $59 . Only seen these at 1 or 2 store's.

The big Promo signs do say Jan 6th funny that I never even looked just figured the 31st.
