Is your cabin insulated or drafty ? How warm do you want it ?

More than likely, I would say yes. That's a lot of LP and your heater probably won't be running constantly, it'll probably cycle on/off.

100# = 2,160,000 BTUs

Wouldn't a 30K heater run for like 72 continuous hours on 100#?

Keeping in mind that the tank probably won't have 100# in it and if it is cold out, pressure will drop greatly when the tank gets low

Absolutely it will!! I have a 100lb LP tank feeding my MR heater 50k and although i didnt get it up and running till January, i still have plenty of propane in the tank from the past winter. Granted i wasnt out there every day but i ran it a fair amount. Easily way over 48 hours and i maybe used about 20-25%. The garage is 576 sq ft, uninsulated. Before the Mr Heater, i used the heater that sat on top of the propane tank ran off a 20lb and could run that for the entire weekend without running out of propane.

I used to do that...Clamp on a fan and it works awesome. I still do it if I'm working somewhere without heat. It's a great backup too.

It should run that 30kbtu just fine. I have a 45k in my garage run off a single 100#. It lasts well longer than a weekend. 24x24 half *** insulated.

I can give you a data point. I heated 300 sq ft of very poorly insulated, drafty space with an 18K BTU heater throughout the winter in Northern VA (avg temps in the 20-30 deg range). A 100 lb tank lasted about two weeks of continuous use.

It depends on how well the cabin is insulated, how cold is it going to be and how warm do you want to be !

I would have a spare 20 lb "just in case" !

We heat a construction trailer that is out hunting camp with the same heater and a 20lb tank. Start it Friday evening, runs all night. Turn it off all day Saturday until we get back in about 6pm. Runs all night til Sunday Morning. Depending on temp we might run out in the early morning, other times makes it thru til we get up Sunday morning.... All on a 20lb tank. You should be fine.

Just be safe and us a carbon monoxide detector. Many people die every year due to CO poisoning.
