Been up at retirement place working on back porch ceiling. I’m so glad that don’t do this for living cause I would be homeless. Today I finally finish installing those 1x6 T&G boards. I have say that they were NOT all perfectly straight. But I was lucky that I started with full width and finish with full width, but it’s not perfectly square. Once I put trim on, you have break out ruler to tell. Now I can start on board/batten on this back wall. Two pieces up has just few screws, I’ll have take down to get flashing. Thanks for looking and I’m all ears for constructive criticismIMG_9423.jpeg

Did you seal all sides of the boards before install ?
One coat on back and three on show side, I didn’t really intend to do three but that’s what it took to get smooth finish. But no one was really going to rub it anyway. I did spraying at home on little over 70 pieces. Dang it, that was lot work but that part is done. Last two pieces kick my ****
Guys keep me on my toes👍

Looks great. Tongue and groove boards are a pain to put up but always look so much better than the alternatives.

What’s the plan for the porch railing?

Thanks Jeff, I really haven’t gave that to much thought. I was thinking maybe iron rod with top bottom being wood. I am open for suggestions on that. Coming next is finishing this side of house w/ Board/Batten which I hope this weekend👍

Looks great. Nice spot also. How bad are the bugs during the summer? Did a similar thing here and just kept going and did a knee-wall and then screened in the top. Enjoy. Also looks like a prime spot for a hot tub.

I hate say but during summer dang Mosquitoes are bad. Living within few feet of lake it just draws them in plus east Tx woods
