100lb hardware bins

I got these a long time ago from my BIL who "aquired" them when he was in the Navy, They must of been made for kicking out of airplanes! I haven't been able to think of anything to use them for. Any ideas?

If those were mine, I would open them all the way and attach them to the wall and fill those bins with screws, bolts, nuts and whatever. I would replace the broken drawers with some made from sheet metal. Nice patina!

Yep those are nice and would get hung on a wall here or put on a shelf above the workbench.

I'd sell them or even give them to somebody here but the freight would be a killer. I'm in Washington. I wasn't kidding when I said they weighed 100 lbs! Or close to it. Each.

I have plenty of hardware storage with these that I scrounged and cleaned up and painted.

I have that identical red cabinet that lays horizontally. Except mine is OD green and flaking and rusty. Do you know what its original purpose was? Mine had TONS of aluminum dividers in the drawers.
