Not enough to thread but I have the piece that broke off so I didn’t know if I could get away with JB WELDING it back on.How much thread is left in the cast iron?

Sorry I didn’t realize they didn’t post.Would probably help if you posted said pictures so we can see them
.Ditto! Especially the grinder pedestals...Personally, I never liked the looks of those bases, they don't look to be very stable.
Exactly, but I suspect is rarely done. The grinder pedestal stand was designed to be attached to the floor (see link to manual below).
If it’s used without securing in this manner, it would be extremely top heavy.

You have to wonder if people that like those stands ever actually use the machines on them? And bolting them down - how many people ever do that? There's a reason nobody makes those stands new today.Exactly, but I suspect is rarely done.
Someone on that other site was asking about using casters on a grinder pedestal.
And he/someone installed a belt/disk sander on a grinder pedestal.![]()

I see stands that are worse still being made today. I hate the stands with 3 legs. I know that 3 legs won't wobble like 4, but if you push on it a little bit it'll still fall over. But yeah, they are still made that way.You have to wonder if people that like those stands ever actually use the machines on them? And bolting them down - how many people ever do that?
