105W CFL's W/ E39 base?

After reading Veno’s thread on using 105W CFL’s

I am considering using CFL’s due to cost. There are 105W CFL’s that have the larger E39 base. I would consider this a better idea due to the large size (some over a foot long) of 105W lamps. What I am not finding are ceramic lamp holders with the E39 base. Anybody found and used these?

I don't know if you can get a base that fits an outlet box since pretty much everything that uses mogul base lamp would be metal halide, HPS, mercury vapor......these CFL's with that base seem like kind of a ******* bulb

I was hoping to find something for a regular junction box. Right now I have 4 regular cheap porcelain screw in fixtures in my shop. I have 2 150W halogen lamps and 2 26W CFL lamps. While working on it to do the floor pour, and now buttoning it up, one of the CFL’s goes in and out with vibrations caused by hammering on the walls. With the 105W lamps being 3 times larger, I think the larger base would be a better choice, but not if I cant get a regular lampholder base for a standard junction box.
I think you are right about them being an anomaly; they just make a better choice strength wise.

Buy some mogul sockets LIKE THIS OR THIS and use a flat metal cover for your boxes and drill them and mount and wire the socket on the flat cover, attach to the box and you are done.

I guess that would work, at least the 1st one. kinda pricy and labor intensive though.
If I go the CF route I think I will just use standard bases and call it done. I think I will wait till I am done banging on the building though.

Mogul sockets are available with a base that will accept a 3/8" ****** that coupled with a chase ****** will simply screw into a flat cover with knockout for your standard octagon box. If you want I can post a photo of above setup.

Veno did THIS THREAD HERE a couple of years ago. He used the 105W CFL with porcelain base and a reflector. Said it worked nice.
