I am installing a few joist hangers and a number of stringer hangers. The metal connector specs say to use 10d nails which I think are 0.148" x 3". I am intending to use 0.148" x 1.5" metal nail connector nails in my pneumatic framing nailer. I am mounting them on 2x8's that are 1.5" thick so don't know why I would use a 3" nail. My Bostitch nailer has the metal connector accessory and I have used this gun & these nails on metal connectors before. Just wondering......

Follow the manufacturer instructions for the hardware. They will list out specific part numbers of nails and likely screws that can be used for an approved install.
