10mm socket for an impact driver bit

Hi folks,

A while ago, I remember seeing the picture of a 10mm impact socket that fits directly into a 1/4” hex. Basically, one end is a 10mm socket and the other end fits perfectly into a 1/4” hex impact driver. I think the purpose of this one-piece design is to reduce the theoretical power loss of using an adapter with a conventional socket.

For the life of me, I cannot find this socket for purchase. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Thanks in advance.

I can't post links yet, but there's s product on Amazon.com that I believe is what you need, but a set.

VIM Tools NSM100 12-Piece Metric Power Drive Nut Setter with Magnetic and Hollow Point Drivers

I'd like to get a set as I have Dewalt cordless tools and they don't make a 1/4" impact wrench, just an impact driver.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. I bought the VIM NSM100 as suggested. Surprisingly, amazon had the best price on them.

Just curious how you like them, if you've had the chance to try them out? Thinking of ordering a set.

Haven’t had a chance to use them. When I do, I will update the thread.

Just out of curiosity, would my APEX recommendation have worked?

The one in your post would not have locked into either of my impact drivers. They both require the longer shank and power groove in some of the other suggestions.

On the other hand, the stubby bits like the one you posted lock into the 1/4" hex chuck of my Bosch PS20 pocket driver, which also accepts and locks onto the power groove bits.

I use a 1/4" hex --> 1/4" square drive adapter in my impact screwdriver. Then I can use any square drive socket or bit I want, 1/4", or 3/8" and 1/2" with square drive adapters.
