New guy here. Long time lurker, finally bought a house and moved out of my apartment, so I figured I actually have a post worthy build coming up. Funny thing is, the garage is smaller by a foot or two each way. :( the rest of the house makes up for it tho
I've drooled over the single car in Indianapolis, Dubbers single and double, and Ricks Audi double for hours and I have gathered a lot from them.
Right now the garage was just thrown together so I could fit my car in before nightfall. Here's what little space I have to deal with:

The motor and trans will be going in the car this winter so that will give me a lot more room. I am contemplating getting rid of the gladiator cabinets because I have another 13 drawer HF box that didn't make the move yet.
I will probably end up taking the closet shelving down to replace it with cabinets. I've got to get everything off the floor[emoji29] [emoji29] [emoji29]
Open to advice and suggestions from the GJ geniuses

Congrats on becoming a home owner. A single is like a garage training grounds. Forces you to be disciplined and plan ahead for every inch. Good luck sir i'll be checking in on your progress.

Thanks guys right now I'm trying to decide on a paint color. Thinking red halfway up with a blk stripe.
Also trying to figure out what I am going to do with all the wheels/tires. Worst part is the 4 wheels/tires are not even mine. They belong to a buddy that moved to FL on a whim

Congrats on the new house and cool SN95. In terms of paint, if you go red/black for the lower part of the wall you will probably need to add a lot of lighting and it will make the space feel smaller. Maybe a red and black stripe? Keep in mind that this is from a 40-something guy whose eyes now need a lot of light to find lost fasteners on the floor.

Your wayyyy too good of a friend. I would hope this is an extremely short term solution. One extra thing unplanned can kill your overall garage in a single for sure. I had my sister's wheels in my single garage for about a week and i was going crazy trying to dance around them.

Key to success is getting tool boxes etc all at the end. Everything else if possible up high on the wall. Room to walk around the car and open doors.

Have you done anything?
Any updated pics?
If it was me I would put a strong rack at the very front above your tool chest and put your tires there. Due to the fact you have a short car in there you have lots of room on the walls to work with.
Can't really help if we have no idea what, if anything, you have done since the first post.

Sorry Late night frustration post while I was trying to clean/work in there. I'll post up more today if the rain stops I can roll the car outside

The two gladiator cabinets are now in my basement, tires are gone.
I have a bunch of gladiator stuff that I can put up in there, including a large cabinet, wall panels, hooks etc, I'm just not sure where to start.

I haven't taken the cover off my car yet because I am home on emergency leave right now and I am not sure when I am going back to the ship.
I did take some quick pictures tonight, if anybody has any great ideas on how to clean up this mess it would be greatly appreciated.
I am thinking about taking the wire shelves down and doing a wall of cabinets in the front.
I also like the box where it is because it gives me more room in front of the car

Gentlemen, I need help! Garage is still a mess and I don't know where to start

What I do every once in a while is:

1. Remove vehicles and anything else that is large, and not bolted down.
2. Spend a bit of time just eyeing up my mess and thinking about solutions or places to put stuff.
3. Remove anything that is not in a nice orderly place, this includes half done projects, tools, etc. Seriously this is the key, get it outside the garage on the driveway and it forces you to deal with it while also giving you a manageable area to work with not tripping over stuff.
4. Build a few more shelves, and move stuff I don't plan to use for a while into my shed in the back yard. There is always room for a small shelf, hook, or something to help get things up off the ground.
5. Start putting things away but take your time and slowly try yo get things into a workable system.

Now I am not naturally an organized person so I need to use these steps to get good results... Others are OCD and they just keep things organized all the time but that is not me, I just get so caught up in projects my mess just grows.... This works for me, may also work for you.... Hey it is worth a shot! The key is good music bit not too loud or I get distracted, and having a good chunk of time to tackle this

Thanks for the tips Sean! I had a couple hours on Sunday so I took as much of your advice as I could.
I ended up driving to my parents' house and taking my Lista cabinets and bolting them together, putting them on wheels, and shoving them in the corner.
I know having a small garage I should be keeping everything off the floor but I'm starting a huge project on my car tomorrow so I needed a quick fix.
I also bought some large contractor bags and threw away two bags worth of junk. Some of it may be worth a couple bucks but it's easier to throw it away.
One thing I'm having an issue with is keeping my hardware neat. I have a small storage bin on th wall but from my truck and various projects I've got some seriously large bolts that I'm at a loss with and I hate throwing that stuff away.
