Been looking around and reading up on a few threads here. I cant seem to find a winch that meets my needs. I'm looking for a 110v winch with wireless remote and ~100ft of cable. I want to use this to winch cars off my trailer and into the shop.

All I see are some really expensive warn/superwinch ones. Was hoping to find a reasonably inexpensive one.

anyone have a pointer?

Since you're asking for help locating a 110v winch, I'd suggest looking at Northern Tool. They have a Ironton 1500lb on sale for $149.99. Good luck with your search, Mike.

WARN pullzall and a wheel chock?

I added a tractor supply wireless control to my trailer winch, and the ~1 second lag time can be pretty when combined with fast line speed.

I've been using the harbor freight one to raise walls and trusses on my garage. Straight line though I don't think will hit 1500. i'm actually surprised how durable it is. changing the configuration now to make a sled to raise roof ply. no remote available that I know of

I use a Warn 8000# winch on my car trailer. On the front cross bar of my Backyard Buddy, I bolted a 10,000# eye bolt with a shackle and turning block. Back up the trailer to the hoist, make sure the trailer and hoist are at the same level, run the cable under the car through the turning block and transfer the car from the trailer to the hoist in minutes. The winch has a remote that makes things even easier.

Had one of the Big R Chinese winches and quickly replaced with a Warn. There are some good name brand 12V ATV winches that could work since using the turning block doubles the pulling capacity. Too, having a trailer winch is really useful.

seems like maybe the best option is just to get a warn or similar 110v, and an extra length of cable. I can extend the winch cable, attach the extension between it and the car.

I have to winch the car out of the trailer and up ~15 ft of hill. The garage is 50ft deep but I guess I dont need 70+ft of pull, I just need to get it up into the garage. so call it 30ft total

I have more questions than answers.
I understand why you want t 120. Just not many great options.

Like others I have a winch on a receiver on my flatbed. I tried a wireless remote that quickly failed. So using a roll of trailer wiring and male and female plug I made an extension between the remote and the winch. If I don't need that much cable I can unplug it and use the remote alone with out it. Just need to find a decent reel to take up and let out slack.

Please let us know what you end up doing.

If it's going to stay in the garage, wire a 100' remote cable, I had a 50' remote on my car trailer, worked out fine.

Are AC winches generally using DC motors? You could always find the properly rated rectifier and step down transformer board and hardwire it to a 12v DC winch.
