12 gal. 2hp ingersoll compressor issues...

My grandfather recently passed. One thing I got was his 12 gal compressor.

Here's the issue-
Plug it in.
Fills as usual.
Then just empties.

Could that be that when it's done filling and the check valve does its thing, it's just staying open?

you need to trace where the leak is. can you hear the air leaking ?
process of elimination , use some soapy water , listen for leaks etc. check that the tank drain is closed first

Tank drain is closed. First check. Oh yeah, I hear it drain. It's not like a holy **** loud thing but it's definitely easy to hear.

I've got it kinda half opened up/torn down right now, I'm putting it all back soon and I'll do the gas line trick again(I THINK I did that)

I don't think it's actually the check valve, I feel like I know exactly what it is but it's just outside my memory haha. The moment someone says it ill have to slap myself because I learned this years ago type thing.
I'll be quietly calling myself a lot of stupid names.

Guessing a quick connect or the regulator is leaking. Might be loose fitting or just need some thread sealant
