"*Continuous Service Program: I understand that unless I tell you otherwise I will receive uninterrupted service and delivery of these magazines, and my subscriptions will be automatically renewed at the end of each subscription term, at the rates then in effect. I authorize you to fulfill my subscription and charge the credit/debit card if provided, or send me a bill if not. I won't be bothered with any renewal notices in the mail; instead I will receive clearly marked reminder notices with the then current rates at least 45 days before my credit/debit card is charged or I receive a bill. I may opt out of the automatic renewal at any time and receive a refund on all unmailed issues by contacting customer service referenced below."

"*Continuous Service Program"

That kind of BS is the reason that I quit subscribing to ANY magazine or newspaper probably twenty years ago. I cheer everytime I read that another one bites the dust. Die you leeches, die!

It's very reminiscent of the "first three months free of so and so channels" cable/satellite TV and satellite radio BS. Just about everyone that I know that took the offers ended up having to pay for at least a couple of months before it could be shut down because "you missed the end of the billing cycle for this quarter" or some other similar BS.

I only pay for a couple of high speed internet accounts. One via cable and one via satellite, for backup. As fas as TV, I only watch free to air satellite and free local TV. My phone is a prepaid one that costs a hundred bucks a year.

"They" need me a hell of a lot more than I need them.

I'll subscribe and choose multiple years on the featured price, but do not allow any sort of renewal since the renewal will be at full newsstand price. It's a pretty common tactic in both magazine sales and cable tv bundles.

I was just trying to remember which magazine does the annual car of the year award. It's Car and Driver. They published their own article about the worst picks they made over the years. I've ALWAYS remembered the 1971 Vega as their worst. I almost bought one until mechanic friends said not to.

Thanks, but I think I'll stick with no magazines either way.
