I am looking for some 12 point metric axle nut sockets. 1/2 drive. I want to stay USA made if at all possible without paying snapon price. I checked SK, proto, and wright. No one makes them. Anyone know of another manufacturer, or am I going to have to go with sunex or grey? Thanks!

Cornwell? It's not a big deal if you replace the axle nuts after removing them, it can be a big deal if you don't. Probably why they're typically 6 point. I can't imagine the pain involved in removing a partially rounded axle nut. Not my business though. Check ebay for off brand (store brand or old stock) impact stuff around 10-15 bucks a socket for the us made stuff.

I don't think I've encountered bad import impact stuff. Some of the stuff might not look so hot but most of it is decently made china or taiwan.

I got a new job and its also a toyota dealer, which uses 12 point axle nuts exclusively. I've already got a 6 point set (Proto). I've been borrowing and now its time to buy. Looks like i'm going with Grey Pneumatic. I looked at Williams and Armstrong as well, nothing in 12 point deeps.

I have buddies at a Big-O who are pleased with the Matco imported cheaper models Adv.? They are big into 4x4 rock crawling and use their sockets a-lot haven't broken one yet. that's a possibility if your on a Matco route for the warranty consideration.

sorry if you only wanted to hear USA Murica made options...

No Matco dealer out in the sticks, only a snap on rep. I'll order up the GP set. Can't go wrong for the price. I get 8 sockets for the price of one and a half snap on sockets. I'm ok with Taiwan, they make quality stuff. Before matco had their Adv line they carried GP which I like better than Adv anyways.
