I have been wanting a 12" sliding saw for awhile now and I just looked in the HD flyer and they have a Ridgid on sale for 399 and it comes with the utility vehicle/stand that is a 200 dollar value...so I guess I am asking if I should jump on this deal or should I stay away from it.

When I was in the market for a 12" it was to mitre cut tall baseboards and the Milwaukee had greater capacity than the Ridgid.

I paid 600 for the Milwaukee saw, wheel stand and they threw in a Milwaukee Job site radio as well at Home Depot.

Be ready to get a better blade, the Milwaukee OE is pretty good but the Ridgid isn't as good. I now have a Freud Diablo 100 tooth that really makes a big difference in the ease and quality of the cuts.

Can't comment on the mentioned saw...would only suggest that you consider a 10" unless you have a specific need for a 12"..

You need to give a reason why. I'm curious.

Price, weight, cost of larger blades, greater chance of blade deflection. JMO.. but a 10" saw should be capable for 99.9 % of most needs...unless you need to cut large crown or baseboard as mentioned. Weight might not be an issue if the saw will remain in one place all the time, but if you're gonna be moving it around a lot, even a few extra pounds makes a difference.
