Ok so here is the deal....I am installing a relay to my HID lights... but after reading everywhere I kept getting two different answers.... I want to know how to connect the relay...I am connecting a 4 pin relay (30,85,86,87). I know the 85 is ground and the 86 is going to the switch from the headlight switch. Now I keep hearing some say the 30 goes to the battery and the 87 goes to the ballast and others say the 30 goes to the ballast and the 87 goes to the battery...which one is it?

30 to battery?

87 to battery?

Thanks

Doesn't matter - one or the other. TYPICALLY it's 30 - 30 is common on the switched contacts, 87 is NO, 87A is NC.

In this case, I would put the battery feed on 87. reason being, if you put a constant 12v on 30, technically, you will have 12v resting on the 87a pole, which could short out if not insulated.

wont really make a difference either way, just personal habit for me.
