buy an aussie ARB one?

Thanks for the suggestion, I would assume they are fine products. However our country is going through a GIANT recession with much unemployment. Manufacturing is especially hard hit. I am trying to do my part by purchasing 90% USA built products. I have no problems buying from a country that has fair trade practices with the US and have never heard of any negative feedbacks from your country. I will not buy from the likes of China or Tiawan if I can help it. I am trying to do my part to help our economy. Since I have a 10% foreign purchase parameters I will look into the ARB compressors you advise.

Not sure how much help this will be, unless you or someone has better luck w/Google than I did...

My pump is made in the USA, by the (Drum Roll Please!) ACME Tool and Diecasting Co. of Los Angeles CA! (BEEP! BEEP!) :lol_hitti

Date stamped 1984, so after 26 years, they are probably long gone...

I got it at a yard sale, and added a decent cord and replaced the air hose. It's been a work horse for me for several years doing tires on the road and airing up my pressurized water/shower tanks up camping.

Pretty sure the regulator was on there from the factory, if not it is a great addition! it cut it off at 40 PSI...

And Yes, I did take the nut off and verify the name was ACME!

quick question what will you be using it for? just pumping up tyres running diff locks or to power air tools?
the other thing a lot of 4x4 drivers do over here is mod a saden air con compressor for running an endless air set up it is actullay really cheap to do and they make a sheet load of air.

that is a great link to modifying a air con compressor to work as an air pump

and thats the link to arb units

Just get a small pump from your manufacturer of your choice then buy a Leeson
12V motor. Not cheap, but would give you performance similar to a 120V unit.

I also have a US model circa 1983 made by Coleman. I understand what the OP is asking. There is no comparison to the new CHinese ones. It looks similar to the Acme one posted.
