Lowe’s in Round Rock Texas still has 1 of these in stock. I just grabbed one today.

That's nice! All cleaned out around me, but they'll ship it to my home for $79.

When you see deals like that, you can always talk to the manager and see if they can work with you on the prices.

Quick story: My in-laws are builders and deal primarily with Lowe’s for materials and are pretty well known within the store. About a year ago, my local store (NJ) had all of those boxes on clearance to replace them with the new line of craftsman boxes, one of the store managers told them they pretty much just want them gone. They made a deal with the manager for 100 for any box they had left and I walked out with that very same bottom chest, a rolling stainless 9 drawer, and two 42” large tool carts. I don’t think there was a clearance sticker on any of those boxes for under $250. Apparently when that kind of stuff goes on clearance they just want it gone. I’ve been using the box since and It seems to be a pretty good quality box for the clearance price.

I was able to grab a bottom box in stainless steel for $375. There were 3 stainless and one black on the floor, but all were pretty rough. I had to wait for the only person able to drive a forklift to get it down off the top shelf for me, but I was able to get one in the box so I could strap it down on my trailer and get it home safely. It's pretty nice. Probably not quite as heavy duty as my old box with sleeve bearings, but way better than my Craftsman bo, and probably about as good as my HF box.

Was that setup ever worth $1200 though? Seems that the clearance price should have been closer to the every day price.

Considering you can get this husky 41" chest with a higher weight drawer slides and the same gauge steel for $850 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-I...t-Combo-in-Matte-Black-H41CH4TR11HD/311394023

or for $50 more you can get an extra 11 inches with this heavy duty 52" for $900 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-I...-Light-in-Matte-Black-H52CH6TR9HDV3/309210140

I would agree that at $1200 this chest was a very bad deal. but for $600 it is not bad at all.
