I need to winch my project car into the garage from time to time. I have a 120Vac winch bolted to the garage floor. I extended the power cord to the pendant hand control but all that cable is a pain.
I have a similar issue winching into a race car trailer .The winch is 120vac not 12vdc.
Here is a link:

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=203905

where we had a discussion about making a wireless remote to operate a 120Vac winch or hoist . Lots of interest for a wide variety of applications in a garage. But nobody has a simple solution. There are some electronic projects that show this can be done. Surely there is a ready made product that can be adapted ?
No I do not want to change to 12vdc winches and hoists just to get a wireless remote. There has to be a more elegant solution?

It may take some research to confirm,
But I would not be surprise if the control side of the electrics on the 12-VAC and the 12 VDC are the same.

If they have an 12vdc upgrade kit it may work on a 120 VAC unit.

Here's a cheap remote controlled outlet if your amperage draw is under 10A: https://www.zoro.com/power-first-outdoor-rf-power-remote-control-1-outle-21rj22/i/G5307644/

I think he is looking for a remote winch controller for AC motor not on/off... it has to be reverse, off , forward functions for AC motors.. ... the HF one is for DC motors... probably won't work out of box, maybe add 4 relays..... interestingly enough someone has already posted a DIY Arduino solution ..... now, all he has to do is just get the proper relays, don't have to be SSRs. just any 4 relays to emulate the DPDT center off switch and a safety mechanism in case he pressed both up and down button at the same time causing shorts.

this link was from his other thread, uses the arduino... you can use the mini, it's only a $5 part.

This is an application where I think you want to consider how it works if the link fails. You want the remote to send a constant stream of commands to the winch control, and you want the winch control to default to "Hold" if there hasn't been a good command for say 100 milliseconds. That way, interference, remote battery failure or operator panic don't result in a bad situation.
