I was looking through my tools last night , and started to think about the 13/16 sockets and wrenches I have . I have a Canadian tire box that i keep them in . So the question is . Has anyone ever use 13/16 wrench or socket , because i never have . If so , what did you use for ?

Thanks

I use 13/16" on Dehavilland Dash-8's constantly, wrenches and sockets. Someone decided when they were building them that this was going to be the size of choice I guess.

Most lugnuts on older vehicles are 3/4 or 13/16. Spark plugs are 5/8 or 13/16. I have used that size a lot on rail equipment. Keep them or I can dispose of them for you. What do you have? PM if you must.

Used one yesterday on a Jeep XJ A/C line. Pretty sure that's the first time I've used 13/16" flarenut.

Ran across some 13/16" lugs on a lateish model econobox a while back. Wasn't expecting that one:shocking:

Can't remember the last time I used 13/16" spark plug sockets.

I used a 13/16" open end wrench yesterday to adjust the drive belt tension nut on a 1952 Delta heavy duty shaper.

Don't thow your 13/16" sockets and wrenches away just yet. This is still considered a standard size in SAE tools. And, 13/16" is still a common size in spark plugs, lug nuts, line fittings, and chassis/suspension bolts, especially if you work on older full size american cars and trucks, tractors and equipment, or smaller equipment like mowers, snow blowers, tree grinders, water pumps, compressors, or shredders. The American roads are littered with 13/16 nuts and bolts.
