14-4 or 14-2-2

Where can i find this stuff? I am needing it to run on two reversible canarm industrial ceiling fans and for connecting the lights on a 3 way light circuit with a switch at both ends in my pole barns. I have checked the local big boxes and nobody stocks any 14-4 or 14-2-2 that I can use... Need around 170 feet of it to.

Try an electrical supplier. You won't see 14-4 in residential, since it's primarily 3ph so you'll have to get a bx cable.

OP- home depot has it in their warehouse and will ship it to the store or your home for free. Be prepared for sticker shock though!

Not true! 14-2-2 and 12-2-2 Romex is a new wire that southwire is manufactoring to make it easier to comply with the neutral in every switch box and AFCI requirements! Has nothing to do with 3-phase wiring which BTW is usually done with THWN wire NOT NM-b!

Are you planning on running wire feeding through the fan boxes from switch to switch. That would be only way I see you needing a 4 wire. Depending on the price it may be cheaper to run 14/3 from switch to switch,then a 14/3 from switch to fan to fan.

On the fan circuit I need 4 conductors and a ground to be able to reverse direction of the fans and ground the boxes.

The second circuit is a lighting circuit that will have 4 lights between the switches. Let me try to explain the use of this. I have two pole barns that are connected via a hall/ramp between the two buildings. The front building is 24 x 54 and is always accessed from the north be it the man door or the overhead door. The back shed is 36 x56 can be accessed via the man door on it or thru the ramp/hall between the two. I would say 75% of the time it is via the hall. So I am wanting to add a circuit with regular lights where the red dots are and a flood light where the blue lines are and have a switch by the man doors to turn them on and off without having to go back and forth between buildings and use them for the quick run in and grab something rather than turn on all the flourescent lights. The current setup is a death trap at night with the only switches being by the man door in the front shed and by the ramp/hall at the back shed. So if the lights arent on in the front shed and you shut the lights off in the back you are left to navigate one building in or the other in the pitch black dark and with all the **** that is piled in them right now while I try to finish the inside of the front one it is quite dangerous.

So I thought about the light circuit some more and I think I will run a separate 14-3 for the switches and add a 4 way switch at the ramp entrance in the lower shed.

So any ideas on where I can buy just 50 foot of 14-4? Or a cheaper way to skin the same cat for the fans?
