Found these on a chip clip for all the woodworkers. $3.98 for 14 Irwin Speedbor spade bits.

None in MN that I could find. I don't much like spade bits, but I had to look anyway.

lowes has a 3 piece ship auger bit set on sale marked down from abour $15 to $8. I already have the 6 piece set of these and in my experience they work well. I'd prefer them over the spade bit set even though this is a good, low price.

I don't find Irwin spade bits to be all that good, but I guess for $4 you can't go wrong

+1 on that - but an OK deal at $4. You can use them until you hit a nail or something, then throw them away. I have seen these at reduced prices several places this year.

Hate those.

Rough holes I only use the Bosch Daredevils. Finish holes I have a cheap Porter Cable forstner set.

Big rough holes, the Irwin 3-cutter self feeds are badass... that and my Dewalt right angle is the only way I was able to get a hole that big through a 14" oak beam.

Well, I found some at a third HD, and bought a cople of sets, but after reading this thread, I don't expect much of them. But for as little as I drill large holes in wood, they should work okay.

Spent less than I did buying coffee for the girlfriend and her daughter, so what the heck...
