My 15/16 Snap-on wrench makes me feel like a REAL man.

Just used mine yesterday to put together my hoist in the barn. The equalizer cable nuts are 15/16.

Wrench size for 5/8" SAE hex fasteners and 9/16" heavy hex. Thats it. Besides nicely fitting M16 stuff (24mm wrench), that's all a 15/16" wrench is for.....

15/16" is the size of the bolt that goes in the ring that holds the lid on a typical 55-gal open-head steel drum (in my experience).

I work on kind of specialized mills and industrial manufacturing equipment. 5/8" bolts quite common so 15/16" head.

Yeah, I wrench a lot and my SAE stuff pretty much gathers dust. Of course i'm not working on Cummins steam engines or whatever...

Yeah, that was my 'tongue in cheek' way of saying it depends what you work on. My 3/8" SAE C'man USA socket set got stolen. I never used it much so I was in no hurry to replace it. That was 6 years ago and I still haven't found a need to replace it. I do have 1/4" and 1/2" SAE sets that, like I said, pretty much gather dust.

They are actually quite common, that's typically the head size for 5/8" bolts. Used all over the place on farm equipment.

I needed a 1 1/16 to get off the fluid fill cap for on the tractor. It was beside the gear shifters and sockets just rounded it off. Ended up "persuading" a 1" wrench down on it and it came off with a little tap. Good thing the cap is like 4 bucks.

It just showed me that yes I do need bigger wrenches for equipment.

Yeah, I finally broke down and filled my collection to 1-1/2" Tekton makes it easy though. Great jumbo wrenches for reasonable prices.

Growing up, my dad had a Sears/Craftsman lawnmower that used a 15/16” bolt to secure the blade. I sort of recall that he only used a 15/16” combo wrench to remove and tighten the blade on that lawnmower and for nothing else.

hell you even find 15/16 on ezgo golf carts on the axle nuts and steering wheeling nuts

I keep a 15/16" on an M12 impact at my Bridgeport for anchoring 2-4-6's to my angle plates. Most 2-4-6's are tapped 5/8-11

I also just did a roadside tire change on an '02 CTD and it takes a 15/16" socket - thus 9/16 heavy hex me thinks
