I've had my Porter Cable for probably 20 years. It's been a great nailer. I have the framer, brad nailer and 15 gauge finish as well.

I'm an electrician, but every professional builder I've worked for swears by Hitachi. I had to have one a while back, and took their advice and have no regrets. But I don't use it professionally either.

Hitachi fan here, but I also don't use it professionally. My friends who recommended it do though.

Let me just edit this - otherwise, I'm not really giving you a recommendation. I'm just telling you what I use.

I like this nailer because it's light - magnesium body. Also, it's easy to adjust and never seems to misfire. The weight is the biggest thing for me though since using a nailer a lot can get tiring. Granted, it's not a roofing nailer which is in constant use, or a framing nailer that can get pretty heavy, but nonetheless, when I'm working for long periods of time, I don't need or want a lot of extra weight to lift.

Depending on how much you will be using a nailer, probably any one might be ok. I've used hitachi models for framing though, and have never had a problem. I've never had a problem with the 15 guage Hitachi either. And as I indicated, the carpenters I know swear by them.

I just bought the Milwaukee 15 gauge angled... fired 3 nails excitedly and I think it's going back. Just doesn't feel right compared to an air nailer to me, seems to have more kickback as there is less hammer speed I'm guessing, I don't like the weight balance, and it leaves a larger hole in the wood than the nail needs and seems to have a lot more tearout?

I love all my other M18 tools, and everything M12 except my M12 vacuum.
