Ok, so the wife's '01 Civic has some really oxidized / hazed over headlights. I've been looking around at products that are roughly $30+ for "restoration kits" and have searched on here for answers and read some "sand, polish, and clearcoat" threads. Since is couldn't justify the purchase OR the extensive work and equipment I don't have to sand and paint them, I thought I would break out the buffer and some Mequire's Aluminum polish and have at it.

All in all, for 15 min. worth of work, I was pretty impressed with how well the Aluminum Polish (paste) worked. I went over it with Mother's chrome polish (liquid) afterwards to polish it up a bit more, but it didnt really make much difference. Saved $30 and an afternoon of sanding and painting.

Just don't stop moving the buffer and don't run it for more than 30 sec. or you risk overheating / melting the plastic on the headlights. This happened in one spot and I was able to buff it out, but it can be alot worse.

Sorry for the duplicate thread in Free Parking. I posted it 20 min ago and it wasn't showing up so I thought I may not have hit "Submit".

Any special buffer wheel used for this? Think something like the Mothers PowerBall would work? (used this on 4wheeler rims and it was night and day diff)
