Great start! I still have my first Craftsman set and box, which I bought at 14 yo from working at the flea market.

What are you going to be using them on?

You are doing good there. I wish I'd been smart enough to invest more in tools as a teenager than I did in beer and partying!!

Good start Joey ....I started collecting when I was 14 or 15 as well. If you need a tool..buy it ...you'll need it again. Can't say I got too hung up on snap on or mac but I do have a pile of well used tools. Garage sales is a great way to collect

19? you dont need that many as there are probably several duplicates. Why dont you try and sell some of the ones that you did really well on at a profit. That way you can afford new or more.

Oh ok 19 ratchets!!! I get it. I work in a saltwater environment so I use the cheap ones when I could possibly drop it in the water

You're off to a good start. Hopefully you'll realize at a young age that cheap tools are a waste of time and money; a lot of 50 year olds don't even understand that.

Great job. Now you are making me wonder if I missed any deals by driving by garage sales:sad:

Don't be afraid to use them. Just clean them afterwards. I won't even lay mine on concrete or any surface other than a towel or cardboard. Don't subject them to excessive abuse. Thant includes lending them out:evil:

Funny you say that. On our way home from the dump, I saw a sign that said garage sale TOOLS TOOLS TOOLS!!! Thought if we should stop but said they're probably gone since it was 1pm and started at 7am. Got home, checked Craigslist, and sure enough the address with the tool sign had an ad with all Snap On tools and a BIG toolbox. :scared: Now I am kicking myself so hard!!!!!

Sell what you don't need and make a profit. More money to spend on new finds. Before you know it, you'll have more stuff than you have the room to store it in.

Nice start, but you really should sell some of those duplicates. Use the money to buy more good deals on tools of which you don't already have 10.

Yeah I think I'm going to sell some wrenches and sockets because I have duplicates or they're not from a set. Just gotta put 'em on eBay. If I have time lol

When my parents ask why I buy so many tools I say: "I'm doing what my financial teacher said for me to do; increasing my net worth" lol
