Holy mackerel! Just to get the hoist high enough to set the safety latch puts the car up pretty high. I hope the four 2 ton jack stands in addition to the 4 ton hoist will hold the shell up safely.(LOL!) Next time up, I'll have to flip the feet on the hoist arms down. It's the first time I've had the hoist all the way up with a load on it....all though not much of a load. It will lift my nearly 8000 lb diesel truck too, but it's a bit of a work-out for it.

Has anyone with one of these single post in-ground hoists drilled more holes in the safety pipe to enable pinning the hoist at different heights, rather than full extension?
