I have a quote to grind a concrete floor as prep for epoxy, the quote states using a 16 grit diamond - is that appropriate or if not what grit grinding should I request?

16's will leave deep scratches, fine if you use a self levelling epoxy, 30/40 grit is still coarse and considered adequate.

16's are not normally used for general grinding, they are mostly for removal of coatings.
