Well, for a 16 year old you have an excellent tool and vehicle collection. Good luck -- It's great to have a good Father/Son project to look forward to. You will remember these days with your father as some of the best times in your life.

Enjoy!!!

VERY COOL lesbos!!!
I'm sure I'm not the only old codger that thinks it is Way Cool to see a 16 year old clean up a garage and get into mechanics and tools and stuff.

Interestingly, I bought the EXACT toolbox from a store in Canada not 2 months ago! Can't recall the brand, but for 175 bucks (CND) it was a HELL of a deal!!!

Best of luck in the shop - post pics of your upgrades and projects - there's good thread going on for either topic.

Hey Guys...

Toooo bad !, my father sold the house, that's it with my garage...
I got a small hall 20min from my living place now, the mercedes ist sold, too :( didn't have the money to finish it.
I started working as a car painter now, (I'm learning, I don't know the right word in english...)

I got an Opel Kadett B Coupe F now, I will finish working on it within the next months, it looked like that, when i bought it:

Didn't look as bad as it was:

Took a little time to look like that:

Right now it stands on its own wheels again, got the pictures on my laptop, which has a broken display.... hopefully i will get the files soon...

The Kadett will be painted in Hondas Belize Blue:

I will post pictures of my new "garage" soon, it doesnt look as good as my old one, but i got a lot more space, so it's worth it !

Have a nice day,

Yours Jan :D

Na, dann geht's ja gleich ab zum altersheim... :bounce:
Nice work, just keep it up and you'll soon have a really nice car. I started out at a small bodey and paint shop and learned the trade for a couple of years. Not a bad thing to do, and always remember that knowledge is something that can't be taken away from you!
Best of luck!!

Welcome back Lesbo's!! The thread died in 2008, nice to see you update it. Also nice to hear you're working in the trade. I got my painters ticket when I was 18 (1982!). As Paul said above, they can't take knowledge from you. After many (many!) years out of the trade, I got back into it as a hobby and all that long-ago experience made me a sought after restorer. I now charge $50/hour cash to restore classics, plus I do my own.
As I recall, prep work in a shop is d-i-r-t-y work, but painting is cleaner and pays well!

All the best - keep us updated on your projects and maybe some work-pics too!

It a bummer you don't have a garage anymore but turn this thread into the car update thread.

Haha, the Motorcycles are still mine !, i sold none of them, the vespa is a project I'm doing at the moment (when I'm getting tired of the Opel) It's gonna be modified and afterwards painted in Fords Dark Copper (with a little extra gold-red pearls ;) )
It's really fun to me, that i can mix up the colors like i want them :)

how about Zundapp?

Will be refinished 'till spring, same as the Vespa

The Hercules is the only one, which I can't repair at the moment, because it's too expensive and I need the money for my Opel (Broken gear Stick (don't know how to call that part) and jamming of the pistion... I have put it in to the barn of my stepfather, so it stands dry and in 7 years, I will have a 50Year old rida :bounce:
