I'm making better progress than I expected on the 17-600.
Vinegar soaks and a LOT of scrubbing have been key.
I still need to tap the repaired hub for replacement handles, refinish the table, clean up the motor and create a decal for the serial plate.
Hurricane Irma was bearing down on us here and I was rushing to get some paint down in case things got out of control here. Plus the busy work kept my mind off things I couldn't control.
The picture is how I picked it up, the removed (terrible shape) hub, disassembly and where I am now.

That's a very impressive "before" and "after" in such a short period of time!!!

That machine is just begging for a VFD!!

Waterslide decal.
I redrew and typeset the plate in Photoshop.
Printed it on waterslide decal paper on an inkjet printer.
Sprayed it with clear acrylic enamel. Let it dry.
Trimmed it, put it in water for a couple minutes.
Slid it off onto the plate. Let it dry.
Sprayed it with acrylic enamel again.

Making one for the oiling plate, too.
