Hey,

My 2017 1500 Silverado spare tire tool kit is missing a piece.

Did not see an option to buy one separately.

OEM is around $100 on amazon while the knock offs hover around $20-30.

In general they except the OEM all more have mixed reviews.

Not sure how many tire changes my OEM set has seen but it is already a bit chewed up.

Is there anything good out there that can take a beating?

Thank you.

I recommend hitting up your local junkyard and find a set in a 2003-2012 Colorado or Canyon. They are two piece instead of three and clear the rear bumper of the full size trucks nicely. I snagged a set to use at the shop several years ago, and they've survived reasonably well. A small quality of life improvement can be had by welding the individual pieces together to reduce slop - it will still fit under your rear bench seat. Bonus points for welding a socket on the end instead of using the tire iron.

You may also have luck finding a 4 or 8 point socket and using a long locking (or welded) extension. I'm sure even a cheap socket will outlive the mild steel used for the factory tools. Mine measures ~7/16" inside across the flats on the female end and 39" OAL for reference
