Any one out there kmow where i might find these parts?i don't know too much about drill presses. i think this is from the 1950;s. i found a parts breakdown, but have no idea where to find parts.

Those are very nice DPs when complete.

Just be aware trying to get 'em one piece at a time can get very expensive. Looking at eBay and OWWM pricing, the quill, spindle and pulley will cost as much as a rusty/dusty complete machine.

Absolutely, and probably not worthwhile when he's missing so many key components. Better off buying a used donor machine and try to get one good one out of the pair. Here's a very good donor in the Chicago suburbs:

As Looking mentioned, get on the BOYD forum of OWWM.com forum. You have to be a member to see that specific sub forum. If you could find someone that has a broken main casting and other good parts you would be in luck, BUT piecing that together from the parts you need is going to be a.)expensive or be b.) very time consuming. You can also check ebay.

What is the condition of the table and base? It would be a toss up between, hold out/spring for parts or part out your machine and buy another drill press. Given your location you shouldn't have much trouble finding a good size drill press for little money. The one Exmaxima posted is a great example.

Needs a drill chuck
Missing the crank handle to lower and raise the table
The quill has been repaired at some point in time

Buy this one and you'll need a third one for parts. There's a reason the first two are so cheap.

thanks for your input guy's. I will try the vintage machinery site. I knew it would be hard to find parts, but i just cant bare to scrap such a cool piece of machinery.i was about to scrap a parker vice i had sitting around for years, then when i posted on this sight that i needed a lead scwrew and nut for it, someone in colorado had it. thought i'd get lucky again.

I'm not sure what the seller is calling the "quill". He may mean the bent replacement handle, which would not be an issue for the OP of this thread---he already has one. And a handle for a lift is easy to find. If I didn't already have a decent DP-600 I would likely buy the CL press myself.
