18650 spot welder?

Anyone have a recommendation on a decent hobbyist spot welder.

I've ordered 2 and both ****. The second worked decent for awhile but it has lost power too.

There was a thread started by Ryan few years back as a DIY one that claims to be better than most that sold on Ebay Amazon. It have a lot of good info there. It's an opensource DIY project, but you can buy all the parts for it I think.

I read the title of this thread so wrong and got all excited, but with inverter power supplies or should be possible to spot weld with an 18650 pack
