We are assisting an elderly gentleman with his 1914 Cadillac that he has 95% completed. He is 86 and in failing health. He and his son had almost completed the car a few years ago, the son passed away and now, sadly, the father can’t remember much about what he has done to the car. This is where we have come in (we are no spring chickens ourselves being 70 & 75). He has helped us in the past and we want to finish up the mechanical part. The upholstery, with the exception of the back seat riser, is correctly done, as he is a master upholsterer and has done a beautiful job with the black leather. All the nickel, copper and brass is complete as is the paint. The car is completely assembled and ready to start. It has been started a few years ago.
Is there available a shop manual or something similar available? We have spark going to the plugs and have fixed the air pump on the dash that primes the fuel tank have gas to the carb. We have figured out the wiring and have the original owners manual. We had the wiring diagram blown up so we could read it and that helped a lot.
There are a few details we would like to know more about before we proceed.
Can anyone offer any suggestions? Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks

Go to the Hershey AACA fall swap meet......Many prewar Cadillac owners and cars will be there, also join the Cadillac/laSalle club they would be able to give you lots of advice and direction. The fall meet starts Oct 9th.

AACA.org has many marque-specific forums that fellow car owners hang out on exchanging knowledge. Since Hershey Fall Meet is just a few days away, that may not be enough time to plan for a roadtrip but the forum will likely allow you to connect to another 1914 Cadillac owner or two.

BTW, where are you located?

We'll also have a look at Youtube. I've seen the one about the Cadillac that's running.
Brent, I'm in Titusville, FL and own a few Model A's myself. Those I can work on!
Thanks to everyone.
