1927 REO coupe followed me home today

I pulled in the garage and I noticed something on the trailer behind me ...Yup a 1927 REO coupe.

Please don't put a Shivvy engine in it Every old car here is the same. 350 Chevy motor, 700r4 and Ididit steering column.

Well a 348 or 409 would be acceptable. I'm just sick and tired of the SBC.

Anybody know what happened to the guy that used to be on here that had all the really old cars? Was it OldCarGuy? His last projects were putting an electric start on a brass era car, and putting his paint booth together? He would consider that 1927 Reo to be a late model.

plans are a straight 6 194 from a 1964 chevy Nova ss with auto trans... I'm not putting an olds in it as some have suggested. six will do fine...

What is the distance between the spindle eyes where the steering tie rod ends connect? I have a project that needs something in the 40-48" range and your frame rails seem fairly narrow...could be an illusion though.

it's 48" wide... typical mustang II suspension with rack and pinion steering. I have to make some mounting plates to weld to.

It's only a problem if you don't follow catch and release procedures.

Your project is looking good. I picked up a Flaming River mustang ii rack that was custom cut to 40" end to end for my project btw. Thank you for your reply earlier. I've never needed one before and didn't realize they came in custom lengths.

A friend of Mine has a REO Speedwagon that has been sitting since the early 70's. I have been trying to take that project on for years, but I am a motorcycle Guy and that truck scares me!

1. I had no idea that a REO was an Olds. But now that I put the initials together, it's obvious.
2. I think Nailhead Buicks look nice when dressed up.
3. But that's just me.

buicks look cool i would allso go with a big caddy 500 ci. but if your going the six i would at least use the 250 and a 200r-4 to bad you can't find an olds flat six and hook the to the 200r-4 just anything but a sbc
