The ceiling was bordered with a small cove molding.
You can see traces of red. This would be from the first paint job in 1928.
When Sandy switched to Sinclair in the early 30s, this was probably left red being that Sinclair used a red also.
Then as years went by, someone mopped white on it being it was easier than cutting in.

Look above the doves head and you can see how the cove molding bordered the ceiling.

Red cove will being going back up.
This time it will be a little bigger cove.
Were using a Sinclair red that has a bit of orange in it.
Trying to match what I used inside.20210728_212106.jpg20210728_223627.jpg

Very nice job!

I guess I missed my cove molding hands on install training?

I have a small job to finish on my garage man door porch. I just have to cut, fit and install four pieces around the 8” posts.

Hope all is well.
Yes all is good. From time to time we get lost in other things.
Winter is a tough time in Michigan. Not much happening outside unless it has to do with hunting. Which I do my share of.
Now that the weather is starting to turn we should be able to get back to some restoration.

Spent the cold months restocking an old double barrel.
This was a semi inletted stock.
There was a fair amount of work to get it to this point.
I should have taken more before pics. These pics were taken after I got the receiver fitting the stock.20220312_201905.jpg20220312_201959.jpg

If the mods think I'm out of line posting gun stock work feel free to delete the post.
Just a little intermission.

Looking at the forearm I just could not leave it like this.
It looked like it was left too close to the wood stove or maybe chewed on by a pointer dog.20220406_193657.jpg

Once you get the iron to fit the wood, cut the bbl troughs to a depth where it snaps on the barrels.

I made the forearm during the course of 2 evenings after work.
Like everything else I do in life I do not snap enough photos.
Instead of doing a small splinter forend, I carved it into a semi beavertail forend. 20220421_201520.jpg20220421_201508.jpg20220421_201528.jpg

The woodworking on the gun looks great. Do you live in the house attached to the station? I know previously you said their was a house either on the property or part of the structure.

I ask because I see you using the office as a shop space.

Yes there's living quarters on the back. Been my residence since 1985.
