My Grandfather was cleaning out his shop and gave me this 1940 Walker Turner production drill press. Someone had given it to him over 10 years ago and it was just taking up space. It was taking missing a few parts but he said between the two I should have enough parts to get one functional. So I spent a few evenings after the kids when to bed cleaning, de-greasing, polishing, painting and rewiring. I think I'm a spindle cap and a return spring away from completion. It runs great and I can't wait to see the look on his face when he see's what I've done with it.

Duckslapper: Great Job I am in the middle of restoring a Buffalo #18 and this keeps me inspired. Not sure what color I am going to paint it yet I have done a truck load of vise restorations and really like Satin Olive Green but grey never disappoints me.

Thank you, Guys. I actually don't see colors all that well so I had my neighbor pick one out for me. I restored a 1950's fridge for the shop and had the guys at the paint store color match the shirt I was wearing because my wife said it would look amazing. My buddies still laugh at it.

That's a great looking drill press. I would love to have it in my own shop!

Your wife is a savant and your buddies don't know what they're talking about. That color is period perfect for that art deco fridge.

Oh..., and in case you didn't have any period references, I thought you might like to see this...
