1940's Vintage Craftsman General Mechanic’s Toolbox

This toolbox, with the ornate corner foot supports, was available in the early 40’s with a leather handle. In the late 40’s they went to a metal handle. It was filled with a near complete set of Craftsman Circle-H tools (not for sale), which is perfectly consistent with the vintage of the box style. The box sports a very nice, intact, and unmolested oval logo, and includes a removable tray with a socket divider.
The box is in very sturdy shape and condition. No dents, no holes, and no loose hinge elements. As you can see, it is missing one clasp, which causes the lid to not sit completely on that side. It was coated in fine surface rust, which I wiped lightly with WD-40 and 0000 gage steel wool, not wanting to disturb too much of the patina in case the prospective buyer chooses to preserve rather than restore it. The bottom is showing signs of mild deterioration due to rust that will require immediate primer and paint. The original color appears to have been green.
Measures 19" x 7" x 10"
PRICE: $35 + postage
If shipping is cost-prohibitive, it can be made available for pick up in NJ zip code 07704, and anywhere along the route - I-195, I-295, and I-95 - between NJ zip code 07704 and Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
