Wow, super-cool! I assume that the pages in the catalog marked "suspended" were due to the war effort and the fact that they needed the steel for war machine production.

I am surprised, as prolific as S-K was, that they weren't involved in wartime production for the military, as Wright, Plumb, Snap-On, Herbrand, Bonney, and Fairmount were. Or were they?

The 3/4" Round Head ratchet that SK still makes today was issued to US tanks, jeeps, etc. during WW2.

Virtually every tool company produced some components for the war effort. In virtually every Popular Science magazine in 1942, Plomb talks about having created a subsidiary to manage a huge sub-contracting network of 31 factories producing tools for the war. Cool stuff!

EDIT: This morning I discovered (link to discovered court order) that the "subcontracting subsidiary" was established as "Fleet," and the name changed to Penens in 1943........looks like there never was a Penens company bought by Plomb. AA also very recently documented this on their Plomb page.
