Brand new motor my ***. Maybe never used 60 yr old motor, but not new. When was the last time a repulsion start motor was made?

300 PSI? That seems a stretch. I have the same or similar compressor, on a horizontal tank, and it is a real good industrial unit. Not sure I'd trust this seller though.

He's probably reading the max PSI on the tank.

For the size of the motor and its age, and looking at the size of the pump its 2 - 3 hp max.

I'm with this guy!! That is a old U frame motor original to the era of that pump. And yeah I'm pretty sure AC motors with brushes in them were out of style a couple decades ago LOL.

People still rebuild electric motors if that is what he is referring to. a new to the compressor "rebuilt" motor.

300psi tank rating, probably actually pumps between 120-175psi.

I bet it sounds sweet. love these old compressors. the low RPM makes them sound cool

That compressor will do 300PSI. I wouldn't try it with that tank though. I'm sure it would be good for 125 PSI though. You are going to get about 4.5 CFM per horsepower so find the HPOf the motor & multiply. Great machine. Poured Babbitt rods and an oil slinger for lubrication.

ran until ~'82.....it had 4 brushes????? the rebuilders said 'forget it it's done'
