Very cool ads. Wow! an S-4 jack for $ 98.50, that wasn't exactly chump change back in '47 I'm sure.

And since I'm in a sharing mood, here's another from 1947. :) Enjoy!!

Here's another ad that I like for the S-4 jack, it's dated 1950.

That S-4 at $98.50 translates to $936 in 2009 money, according to the inflation calculator that I used.

These ads are great; I can't wait to pick up my S-4 jack in a couple weeks!

Bull,

The S-4 is no light weight. Bring a buddy with you to help load up your new jack. Believe me, your back will thank you later. I don't know the exact weight, but I'm sure it is every bit of 150lbs and maybe some over that.

Be sure to post up some nice detailed pics once you get it. If your really inclined, document your trip as well, we always like adventure stories here.

I should be getting this thing on Sunday. Between the seller and I, I hope getting it into my pickup wont be a problem.

I will definitely take some pics and post them here once I have the beast. I need to scrape together some pennies so I can get a kit from Hiball. I also recently bumped into a guy I know who owns a powdercoating business, so maybe I need to see how much it would cost me to get the pieces done up with some powder.

I have it in my possession, and I am in love. If I can figure out a way to get it out of my pickup and into the garage tomorrow without crippling myself, I will post some pics in a new thread. It needs some work, but was worth every penny of the $50 plus gas money that I spent to go and get it.

I've had, on occasion had to get bigger 2 stage snowblower or generator out of my truck by myself, Go to the liquor store or a store you know of that has boxes, I put the boxes, mostly the more solid ones beneath the tail gate. I back up the snowblower so that the edge of the shut is on the very back inch of the tailgate, make sute my boxes align up and quickly move it. I've never had one actually hit the drive and I've done many.

1946 ad, says S-4, but looks more like an S-18 2 ton model.
