Testing the water here. I am going to offer up my 1947 1/4'' Snap-on service set.
I have color matched and re-painted the box, Tools are in great shape and all but two sockets are date stamped 1947. The two odd sockets are stamped 1944?
Any serious buyers can contact me for pricing info and I can get photo's or any other info you may need.

Yes those sets did come OEM with the yellow nut driver as shown. Chad might be along to confirm shortly if we are lucky.

Actually I have contacted Chad to get an idea of their value prior to posting the ad. He didn't say anything was out of place so.....

I can't believe how good the condition of the set is; the repainted tool case makes a nice contrast too!

Yes, the nut driver is 100% original to the set. Snap On "Midget" sets came with nut drivers starting around 1931, first with a wooden handle, and then in the 40's, the clear yellow handle. There was also a stubby nut driver handle, with a very short shaft, which interestingly, was labeled blue point, these are quite rare.

This is one of the very first 1/4 sets to roll off the line, and 1/4 Midget marked ratchets are much rarer than midget marked 9/32 ratchets, as the earlier 9/32 ones were made for 8-9 years, the midget marked 1/4's were only a few years, and it took time for the 1/4 line to replace the 9/32 that had been around and sold since 1925.

That said, the 40's 1/4 drive sets are very rare, and your chances of finding one nicer than this, are very slim! I dont collect 1/4 stuff, so someone else will be lucky to get this set, its well worth investing in.
