Here is a nice little pair of early Snap-On mini cutters I found at an antique mall today. These are #184 with the Vacuum Grip handles and a 1948 date code. They look just about like new, with the original oxide finish and no rust or nicks. They'll fit right in with my small but growing Vacuum Grip collection.

Looks good. Antique shops are the most expensive places I have ever tried to buy old tools. The people won't reallly work with me on prices. I dug through one three story place for a couple hours one day. I had like $40 worth of stuff. I asked if they would take half what they had marked on an Armstrong catalog, they flat out said no. I let them take the time to figure out where i picked it up in the store and restock it.

I have very little patience for people that like to make up fantasy prices for their items. I have tried the antique store thing a few times, and I really can't even bear to walk in to one any more.

Yes, often there's a very bad mentality there: "I have no idea what this is for and I don't know whetehr it is scrapiron or gold, so I better price the hell out of it so no one takes advantage"

I was at the flea market last weekend and a guy had a full set of International Harvester wrenches. I ask him how much and he says 11. I say what 11 dollars and he say no $1100.00. I understand the IH stuff is very collectable but come on 1100. The guy was a jerk and somehow acted like I was a jerk. Whatever. They were nice wrenches but think they are just wright wrenches stamped as IH. He probably just wanted to show them off and not sell them or something. Maybe I'm totally wrong and they sell for that much but somehow doubt it.
