1948 Wilton C0 3 1/2” vise

Hey guys new here so if this has been discussed before please let me know. Starting to restore my first vise ever and wanted to know what all labels or stickers were on this when new. I can see the 5 year warranty one on the back but wonder if there should be any more on it. Thanks!

Did you already paint it? It is rare that the original Wilton water-slide decals are intact. I don't know anyone who is reproducing them. Also, Wilton never painted the anvil or the "cheeks" of the jaws, next to the jaw inserts. I can't tell if you have those areas masked.

+1 for what @Roberts210 said. if you haven't taken that apart I wouldn't. That's a very desirable original condition Wilton. I'd carefully clean it and leave it as is. If you want a user I'd either shelf that one or you could sell it for more than the cost of less pristine vise. Just my two cents. If you post it over on the big vise thread you'll get more info.

Yes I sandblasted it and am currently painting it as we speak. I am using sage green as everyone says that is as close as you can get. Yes the anvil and jaws have been masked off and I’ve sanded and polished them to almost a mirror finish so far

Dry fitting tonight. Still have to polish all the metal components to my liking. Going to polish the handle and the other items and then will reassemble. Think the color came out good.

They are little plastic triangles to elevate the work off the the floor or work bench surface for painting

I’ve seen reproduction stickers on fleabay, but I THINK only for baby bullets? Give it a lookup, it’s possible whoever makes them, makes them for most Wiltons as well
