Picked these up today at a sale and they are great to look through. It was great seeing the Alien head and jointer in here as I just pick one of each up awhile back. The alien head in the catalog is a bit different than the one bought.

Marty: I just emailed you my 1950 Craftsman catalog i had saved to my laptop for you to compare or just save to your computer.

pretty neat you found the original one. notice that the cost of the motors are spendy compared to the cost of the tools and why so many of the machines had one motor for more than one machine.

Never mind. GJ comes through again! WOODY 73 posted this link in another thread - it leads to a huge cache of scanned catalogs, including the complete Craftsman 1950:

Part numbers don't show, but there's no doubt the 12" planer is mine. I was guessing it must weigh 200 lbs - shipping weight is 290 lbs.!!! No wonder it was so hard to get into the car!

I think I just bought the 12" planer tonight! Right shape, size and logo. Does your catalog show the part number? Mine is 112.23490. If that's the one, would you mind posting a better picture showing the whole page it's on? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I paid nearly twice what it cost new, but with a 2 hp motor and stand, and cheaper dollars.:D

There's an "Alien Head" on CL here for 150 bucks but that seems a bit high. Thoughts?
