1953 Detached garage overhaul

Hey guys I started checking out the site the other day for some good tips and information about the remodel Im playing with.

I have a 2 car detached garage with small (4 1/2 foot height) loft above it. It was in rough shape inside when I bought the house 9 months ago. Now that its nice outside I have been tearing the old stuff out and working on some updating.

There was only (1) 12-2 wire ran "underground" about 3 inches to the garage. I have since updated the electrical and put a 100 amp sub panel there, new lights, and scores of more outlets.

I also just wired the air compressor and still finishing my lines. I wish I would have seen this site earlier and took pictures.

I am by no means an experienced carpenter or any other tradesman, but Im learning as I go and love doing it. Im 26 years old and this is my first house.

Well theres a little background on me and the project at hand...heres some pictures I snapped....

I closed in under the steps and made a small "room" for the air compressor

Heres a close up of my air lines. They are reinforced "Polyon" tubing for air brakes. 5/8"

Heres a chart for the Polyon tubing if anyones interested. I know the general consensus is that black pipe is the way to go and PVC is a sin but this stuff has a the AIR pressure rating to handle my compressor and also handles cold and warm temp changes well.

Thanks guys. I am trying to find some of the pictures from when I fist moved in. There was stuff everywhere and you couldnt park a car in it anywhere with all the stuff on the walls.

I also put a forced hot air oil burner unit upstairs in the loft with a 12 x 12 hole through the floor for the heating ducts but have no completed it yet. the oil burner I bought used and needs a little attention but being its just the beginning of summer Ill get to that later.

Any tips or ideas are greatly appreciated as you guys are definitely more experienced that myself.

Make sure there is enough holes/vents in the air compressor room.
