I didn't see whether or not it fetched the cool $5,000 the seller was asking (+ shipping & insurance of course). I know nothing about the vintage-German-car-specific-tool-kit-market.

Figured some of the GJ german tool freaks would have something(s) to say about this specimen. Not something you see everyday.

Very cool! I know original tool kits for collectible cars such as that Gullwing can fetch some serious money. Sorry I'm not a vintage Mercedes expert so I can't offer anything meaningful, but thanks for posting the great pics.

I have a complete, unused set (including the original, unscarred tool box that fits the cutout on the bike) for an '80 Gold Wing. Maybe I should put it up for auction... I've almost thrown it out a few times, but ya never know...
